LINCOLN PARK: Man bound over on 14 felonies for May 2010 shooting at Bada Bing!
LINCOLN PARK — A 33-year-old man who had been a fugitive for 1 1/2 years was bound over for trial in Wayne County Circuit Court on Thursday on 14 felonies related to a stabbing and two shootings in May 2010 at Bada Bing! strip club.
The charges against James Ramon Bogan include four counts of assault with intent to murder and felony use of a firearm.
At about 5 a.m. May 29, 2010, an argument between Bogan and another man at the club , 863 Dix-Toledo, escalated in the parking lot. Bogan is believed to have stabbed a 29-year-old River Rouge man and shot a 47-year-old Ferndale man and a 44-year-old Ecorse man. All three survived.
After he allegedly stabbed the River Rouge man, who had a license to carry a concealed firearm, the wounded man fired at him. Bogan left before police could arrest him.
He was expected to turn himself in June 1, 2010, but never showed up at 25th District Court. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was on the run until he was arrested on an unrelated charge in January at a nightclub in Detroit.
Bada Bing! has been the site of controversy over the last several years. In 2007, a 17-year-old Wyandotte girl was hired there as an exotic dancer after using an older friend’s ID. She died of a drug overdose a couple of days after she started working there. A former football coach at Ecorse Community High School was convicted of providing her with the cocaine that killed her.
In September 2010, four men bound and tortured another man in the club’s basement with a hammer, a drill and a handgun. All four were convicted of various crimes and two were given lengthy prison sentences.
